The original - and the best
The OPS (Open Pulled Straw) is THE FIRST purpose-designed tool for ultrarapid vitrification.
THE ORIGINAL 2 publications (Vajta et al. 1998a,b) were cited more than 1,200 times. The method is among the most referred ones in reproductive biology.
OPS has resulted in
- THE FIRST human baby after oocyte vitrification,
- THE FIRST cloned animal after embryo cryopreservation,
- THE FIRST calf after cryopreservation of immature oocytes
- THE BEST results after hESC cryopreservation
OPS was THE FIRST ultrarapid vitrification system where safe storage was resolved (Vajta et al., 1998c). The established principles are now widely used in other techniques, as well.
